    3. I apologize for those on Digest or w/small inboxes like myself for the long below message. :) Alli DeLorra, I truly don't know what your issues are about my message, but the only one having a cow about anything is you. Dan has repeatedly asked that we snip/cut/eliminate all excess parts of the messages that are no longer important. My message is no longer important & I wasn't answering my own message I was answering yours LOL I fail to see how I take every message as a personal attack........your behavior is interesting oddly close to another individual I know who takes any message not siding w/them as negative & tries to spin a persons message as a negative one & attacks them......Hmmm Interesting Now....back to the original message........... (now Dan & Other's forgive me for this LONG message....but don't wanna be accused of dodging or lying or anything else again) Here is my ORIGINAL message to ShadowBear..... From: "Alli" <iamcheroke@filertel.com> To: <CHEROKEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2006 6:33 PM Subject: Re: [Cherokee Circle] Hobby > Aren't you suppose to report a "site" where you find "Indian artifacts" to > document the location & such? I was ASKING if wasn't he (actually anyone in general) suppose to report the "findings". As that's what I've always heard that is suppose to be happening, even though no one or very few do. Shadow Bear explained later that he has in the past reported such things, but they didn't care & he didn't want them ended up in a warehouse......that's a basic summary. (Shadow Bear if this isn't any where close to what you said or meant.....sorry for misinterpreting your message. Now the subject line changed to "Alli--your right" which here is the whole message including Shadow Bear's below my response: ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alli" <iamcheroke@filertel.com> To: <CHEROKEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 7:46 PM Subject: Re: [Cherokee Circle] Alli==You are right== > I gotta laugh at the subject line.........its a bit scary to see my name > connected to "your right". As you can see I was talking about still writing the info. about when & where the artifacts were located so he could pass this information (history) down in his family & hopefully the artifacts & information of where it was found (& when so they'd know exactly how old it was at this point) would be shared throughout his family & more history wouldn't be lost. Then here's my reply to you......... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alli" <iamcheroke@filertel.com> To: <CHEROKEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 7:59 PM Subject: Re: [Cherokee Circle] Alli==You are right== > Technically its illegal to dig up or even remove Indian artifacts w/o > documenting the location, etc. I didn't say it was right.....but its the > law. > Many people find Indian burial sites or living locations dig up or find > them > above ground & then turn around & sell them. which is more than likely how > they ended up in France. > > Personally I didn't say he was obligated.......at least not to the > government, but the info. of where the artifacts were located & when > should > be written down & kept w/the artifacts for his descendents in later years > to be shared the history w/. > > Alli :) > >> Besides Shadow bear you are Indian and not only does most of it belong to >> your family you are entitled to have Indian artifacts. But its there. But as I stated several times now......I'm not concerned w/the Fed.'s knowing what he found & where, because he's tried in the past & found it a waste of time, because as he stated they don't truly care. My concern is more history lost to the next generations because anything even as little as finding an Arrow Head some where is never documented to be passed down later. I also explained (like that was needed) how the American Indian stuff ended up in France.......people sell things on Ebay all the time that deal w/such things, as well as individually. Don't see where we had a disagreement issue in the above message. Then below is w/the current subject line...... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alli" <iamcheroke@filertel.com> To: <CHEROKEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 10:46 PM Subject: Re: [Cherokee Circle] whatever > I know who the Indian Artifacts belong to.......they belong to the > specific > tribe that was located in the area of those artifacts......but not to > Indians in general. > > And since your TOTALLY missing my message or what I stated......the > current > subject title fits very well right now > > And the original subject/topic is being dropped by me because > > the tone I'm getting from the message below is leading into an argument, > which I'm not going to get into. > > Good night all > Alli >> Technically, whatever is on your property belongs to you. >> Personally I didnt say you said anyone was obligated. And it has lead to you getting more rude (as that's how I am seeing the messages appear now) & as I said I am not going to get into a argument w/you. I haven't disagreed w/anything that you've stated up until your new message below. > ....................................... > In a message dated 1/7/2006 12:46:54 AM Eastern Standard Time, "Alli" > <iamcheroke@filertel.com> writes: > >> I know who the Indian Artifacts belong to.......they belong to the >> specific >>tribe that was located in the area of those artifacts......but not to >>Indians in general. >> >>And since your TOTALLY missing my message or what I stated......the >>current >>subject title fits very well right now >> >>And the original subject/topic is being dropped by me because >> >>the tone I'm getting from the message below is leading into an argument, >>which I'm not going to get into. >> >>Good night all >>Alli >>> Technically, whatever is on your property belongs to you. >>> Personally I didnt say you said anyone was obligated. Where do you get that No one else can make statements? Have you or anyone else ever been stopped at making one? If so please show me the message that was never allowed to be sent thru. I have been on this list for what??? 8 years now. I have never seen or heard of anyone being prevented from ever making a statement unless it was a flat out attack on someone either as a threat or bodily harm or bad words & then it was sent thru but they were blocked/banned from returning as the attacks went private & more personal to where the Law was involved. No one (that I am aware of) is on a Gag order............Dan since your the list owner can you post whether or not you have people "gagged" for what ever reason? I know exactly how often I've been in arguments on this list......as I stated I've been on this list for 8 yrs now.....you've been here how long? how many arguments or attempted arguments are we going to find w/your name? I'm sure if Dan felt inclined he can pull up both of our names & list the exact number of arguments either one of us has been in. I betcha he can also list how many times he's had to stop arguments from starting or continuing. Not sure what the argument topic has anything to do w/the original message of finding artifacts & keeping info. on them........but I'm sure you'll explain it to me;) If you didn't write to argue then what did you do below.......increased the rudeness from the last one to insight an argument......which still isn't going to happen on my end. And as for the rural reference near the bottom of your message....... Nope I don't have a field to plow, don't own a field nor have anything to plow a field w/other than my little roto tiller & sorry.......I'll use that for my garden only LOL......as for something to feed in the barn.........again.....Nope. Don't own a barn, everything that I needs to feeds is either located in my house, my yard or in a rented pasture all in the big outdoors.....with the exception of those things I got's ta feed in the house. Then they's stays in the house. And as for a cows to milk......again nope...don't gots no cows to milk. Haven't has any of 'em since I was a young kid & then we's only had 1. You added your thoughts as I had added mine....yet you took offense to mine when there was none to be taken. As for being "dismissed" thanx but yous ain't my ma or pa nor is you my teacher nor is you any authority to mes whats so ever.........so the only one who can dismiss me is those listed above (except for the teacher cuz I haven't been in school for many years now)......so I guess you'll have to put your dismissal authority aside & let Dan make that decision :) And see.......I kept all of my message portions here just for you :) Have a good Sat. Delorra......as best that you can at least :) Alli >I see you conveniently removed YOUR portion of the message. > > How come whenever someone disagrees with you, you have a cow? 3. Interesting. Never heard of the horses hooves being wrapped before. One thing I've been learning about the wild horses at least on this side of the country is that if there are rocks around some of the horses (not always all) is that they've learned to 'pound' their hooves on the rocks to trim themselves? Shadow Bear was horses common to the Cherokee people? 3. Delorra I do not have any artifacts, I have not found any, but if I did. I might leave it there and do some study on the area to see who it could have been from if it is Indian looking, never know when some read treasure shows the way to more and just to have people come and dig it up would be real bad. I think there are good reasons for study, but none to destroy the place just take things. TO see them end up in another country is just absurd. I like museums, but some times what they say about something's are not always the real facts. If I see too many things in the woods or places I go, I might try to learn more with study. Telling people where - might get the whole place re invaded <again> Dan M www.wvi.com/~wb http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Genealogy_Chat ----- Original Message ----- From: <DLorr1@aol.com> To: <CHEROKEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 7:44 AM Subject: Re: [Cherokee Circle] Alli==You are right== > Besides Shadow bear you are Indian and not only does most of it belong to your family you are entitled to have Indian artifacts. 3. Hi Barb, Was the Golden Corral very busy when you ate there? We sometimes are so busy that we say it is like herding cattle through the restaurant, not much room to move. I really like our food, except the stuffing, and I am not much of a steak eater. I like our fish and roast beef and mashed potatoes. I always get our peach cobbler, bread pudding (which I have never tried before) and I love our banana pudding and pumpkin pie. You would think that I would gain alot of weight eating there but I have not gained any yet. It must be all the running around being busy there that keeps the weight off. 3. Hi Barb, I am 46 1/2 yrs old and I have lived in Smock, PA practically my whole life. I have visited Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, Maryland, and Texas. But I am hoping to visit South Carolina in June. I hear that it is beautiful and I would love to see it. I liked Arizona because I love the hot weather and we visited an old ghost town where donkeys just roamed through the town, this was different. I felt like I was back in the 1800's. I love to visit historical sites. I did not like Texas, the roads were long and flat (no hills), and though I loved the heat - everywhere you went you froze to death because of the air conditioning. I would have to live outside if I ever moved there. I like Maryland and some parts of Virginia, I don't like big cities, I would never live in one, I enjoy the country. 1. Fox and Rabbit - Apache / Jicarilla
    2. Blue Panther
    3. Fox and Rabbit - Apache / Jicarilla Fox one day met a Rabbit who was sewing a sack. "What do you intend to do with that sack?" asked he. "I am making this coat to protect myself from being killed by the hard hail which we are going to have today," replied Rabbit. "My friend, you know how to make them; give me this coat and make another for yourself." Rabbit agreed to this, and Fox put on the sack over his head. Rabbit then hung him on a limb and pelted him with stones, while Fox, thinking it was hail striking him, endured the punishment as long as he could, but finally fell nearly dead from the tree, and looked out, to see no signs of hail, but discovered the Rabbit running away. Fox wished to avenge himself by killing Rabbit, and set off in pursuit of him. When overtaken Rabbit was chewing soft gum with which to make spectacles. Fox's curiosity was stronger than his passion for revenge. "What are you making those for?" said he. "It is going to be very hot, and I am making them to protect my eyes," answered Rabbit. " Let me have this pair; you know how to make them and can make yourself another pair." "Very well," said Rabbit, and he put the eye- shields on Fox, who could then see nothing, as the gum was soft and filled his eyes. Rabbit set fire to the brush all around Fox, who was badly singed in running through it. The gum melted in the fire, and yet remains as the dark rings around his eyes. Fox again started on the trail of Rabbit, with the determination of eating him as soon as he saw him. He found Rabbit sitting beside the opening of a beehive. "I am going to eat you," said Fox ; "you have tried to kill me." "You must not kill me," replied Rabbit. "I am teaching these children," and he closed the opening of the hive, so that Fox could not see what was inside. Fox desired very much to see what was In the hive making such a noise. "If you wish to see, stay here and teach them while I rest. When it is dinner time, strike them with a club," said Rabbit, who then ran away. Fox patiently awaited the dinner hour, and then struck the hive with such force that he broke into it. The bees poured out and stung him until he rolled in agony. "When I see you again, I will kill you before you can say a word!" declared he, as he started after Rabbit again. Fox tracked the Rabbit to a small hole in the fence around a field of watermelons belonging to a Mexican. The Rabbit had entered to steal, and was angered at sight of the gum figure of a man which the owner of the field had placed beside the path. "What do you desire from me?" he cried, as he struck at the figure with his forefoot, which stuck fast in the soft gum. He struck at the gum with every foot, and even his head was soon stuck in the gum. Thus Fox found him. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "They put me in here because I would not eat chicken for them," said Rabbit. "I will take your place," said Fox ; "I know how to eat chicken." The Mexican found him in the morning and skinned him, and then let him go, -- still on the trail of the Rabbit who had so frequently outwitted him.
