Wallace was born in the "Hallettesville" area, Lavaca county Texas, thats about half way between Houston and San Antonio.I don't have his birth record but I have a 1860 county census that shows him as a one year old youngster, along with his sister and parents, and grandparents, aunts and uncles. The 1850 census has the grandparents Thomas and Mahala Chaudoin & children all listed as "Sanders" instead of Chaudoin". Just a mistake in the transcription apparently.E-Mail me if you want.
