Hi mamakitty, I have been watching with interest your mail concerning William Chase....and I note a certain uncertainty as to which generation of of William was married to and the son of who. I am a descendant of St Lucia William Chase born in England in 1790, and in searching have found very good lines of the other William Chase lines that exist. For instance Williams Chase b 4 Jan 1607 mar. Mary Townley b 5 Mar 1603 had a son William Chase Jnr b 15 Jun 1621 mar. Elizabeth Holder b 1624 had a son John Chase b 16 April 1649 mar. Elizabeth Baker b 1648 had a son William Chase b 8 July 1688 mar. his cousin Dorcas Baker b 15 Nov 1696 had a son William Chase b 16 Oct 1774 mar. his cousin Mary Chase b 15 Nov 1696 and her older sister Mercy Chase b 11 Feb 1733, now this William had no issue by Mary but had 9 children by Mercy, they were Job Chase b 1753, Sylvanus Chase b 1755, John Chase b 1757, Elizabeth Chase b 16 Dec 1759, William Chase b 1761, who appears to have died as a baby, William Chase Jnr b 1764, Rebecca Chase b 1767, Deborah Chase b 1769, and Archelies Chase b 3 Mar 1771. Now if that ain't enough William Chase's to think about, then tell me more. I live in New Zealand and our generation of Chases stem from James Alvin and John Frances Chase who were Ship owners working with their uncle Job Chase b 1736, shipping magnate 1800 to 1840. Our generations here in New Zealand have a very good understanding of geneology as most of us are Latter Day Saints and you and other Chase descendants can access the same information by visiting and using the website www.familysearch.org....I'll copy this to CHASE-L@rootsweb as well, I too am a subscriber and I'll be interested to see results forthcoming. bye......Dave Davies....another Chase on line...
