    3. Hi All, Must say, I agree wholeheartedly. I am sure many of you, as I did, had ancestors who died in that unspeakable battle. By the way, in the note I sent the other day re my 2 Benjamins, I mistakenly put Westchester Co., but Chatham is located in Columbia Co.in case anyone has any info or can get into that info on rootsweb that I believe takes you to Ancestry.com, which I cannot get into. Phebe Chase is mentioned there and the death date seemed about right. Phebe Barnard Macy Chase, b. abt. 1772, Nantucket, North District, MA, m. Mar. 31, 1807, Benj. Chase 6), d. Feb. 12, 1818. Was 1st m. to Aaron Macy and had 2 children, Aaron and Judith Macy. I anybody has any of the Quaker cemetery sites in Columbia Co., I would appreciate knowing them. A couple of interesting notes: I just could not find anywhere... the date of my grandfather , Charles Daniel Chase's birth...........! Finally, it dawned on me to look at the spoons in my spoon rack............and sure enough, there it was the month and day. I already knew the year. Just goes to show you that you NEVER know where you are going to find info..............! Hopefully this hint will help someone else. The other thing is quite interesting.......... ! From that email I rec'd info from someone in my Chase line. His gggfather was Clark Chase who lived in Palmyra. The son Asa & Palmyra are mentioned in the 25+ pages of Chase history that I have. Interestingly enough, he said that the Seer Stone which is prominent in the Mormon religion founded by Joseph Smith of Palmyra was found on Clark Chase's property in Palmyra.....! Guess it's a VERY small world.... I sure would like to figure out how some of my ancestors ended up in Palmyra when supposedly going to Farmington..........15-20 mi. south, but my Benjamins ended up in Sodus or Williamson, (which I am now confused as to whether that is Ontario or Wayne Co.) I believe Sodus is Ontario, but Williamson may be Wayne. Oh well, always find new info and always finding MORE puzzles to solve.........! By the way Jeffrey, I tried to email you but it came back, so I guess the only way to reach you is thru the Chase-L list. Wanted to say, that I do know things are archived, but thought you were having trouble with rootsweb doing so, and I just didn't realize that I would find it there immediately. Thanks to all who resent the info..........I sent it on to my list with the following message: Hi All, I thought this was really good and should be passed on. Yes...........technology has made exceedingly great advancements in soooooooooo many ways, but with it we have paid a big price. I sometimes wonder ---- in the end, will it REALLY be worth it????????
