    3. Hi All, The 1st response gives the rootsweb link to the Chase Cemetery "Furnace Woods" in Westchester Co., NY. If this helps anybody, please let me know as we may tie into the same line. My Chases are fr. Westchester Co. and I will have to find time to look into this. Did not see anybody that was immediately familiar. By the way, would anybody know of a Quaker Cemetery in Westchester Co., especially Chatham, NY. I know there is one there, but do not know the name. It is right by a house that was a Quaker Meeting House and has Chases buried in it, but again, I don't know the names of those buried there........! I do know that some of my relatives are buried there. Another note while I'm at it. When my Chase relative went to Chatham a number of yrs. ago, he did not see a Benjamin Chase buried in the above cemetery. However, at that time, he didn't know what other 1st names to look for. We have Benjamin and Benj. Jr. Obviously Benj. Sr. isn't buried in Chatham, but I would bet his 1st wife Pheobe Barnard Macy Chase is buried there. Soon after her death, Benj. & Benj Jr. left Chatham and resided in Williamson (Sodus), NY with their wives and families, where Benjamin is supposed to have given land for a Quaker Meeting House. I have checked on line in Ontario Co (where Sodus and Williamson) are & also nearby Wayne Co. to no avail. I did see........and I believe it was under rootsweb someplace info on a Phebe Chase, but was unable to get into it. It was awhile ago........and I don't remember offhand why. Think it was because I didn't belong to ancestry.com. If anyone comes across this info or would be willing to look, I would much appreciate it. Benj 5 was 1st m. to Elizabeth Durfee and 2nd, Mehitable Thurston, fr. whom we are descended. Benj. 5 was lst m. to Phebe Barnard Macy Chase, then Lydia Macy Chase. Am also looking for Cornelius Chase and wife Mary Swayne, all from Chatham. It is interesting that the info you all found verifies what our Chase info says, that they received their papers to go to Farmington, NY (Ontario Co.), but they actually ended up in either Sodus or Williamson, NY., also Ontario Co., I believe. Sodus & Williamson are on Lake Ontario and Farmington is about 15-20 mi. south. We have no explanation for this.........! We have come to the conclusion that BenjaminJr. and wife must be buried here in the Rochester suburb of Henrietta. Unfortunately.................., the little Quaker Cemetery which was right near their home, is no longer there and there are no records of it that ANY Rochester area historian can find. Wegmans, which is a big supermarket chain here & and in PA, paved over the cemetery...........!!!! So.......it does look like I will not be able to substantiate the final resting place of some of my ancestors. I have to wonder how a business could be allowed to pave over a cemetery without moving the bodies and recording it. I know that the Quakers didn't believe in big headstones, but you would think there would , at least be markers, AND that the cemetery records would have to be recorded SOMEWHERE...........by law, if the remains were, in fact......., moved. Anybody have any ideas????????
