He did not contribute of the change of Chase to Chace. I donot know if he remained a Tory, but he probably had to living in Canada. However, he sure opened the flood gates of Chases....12 children. Two of those children; James P. had 6; Seth, who married Mary Puddington had 12 children; Daniel had 5; and James had 11. ( Thats like 34 grandchildren...and there could have been more. Must have been cold in New Brunswick. Just as in my side of the family, the Chase men liked Chase women. Sarah, daughter of Daniel married first cousin, Henry D Chase. James P married Phebe Chase and Mehitable married James Chase. Where do you live? I sure enjoy reading your information. Cousin quite a few time removed...Colonel Frank Chace --part1_144.eadf0f1.2a19528b_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <[email protected]> Received: from rly-xi05.mx.aol.com (rly-xi05.mail.aol.com [172.20.116.10]) by air-xi05.mail.aol.com (v86.11) with ESMTP id MAILINXI51-0519133038; Sun, 19 May 2002 13:30:38 -0400 Received: from lists5.rootsweb.com (lists5.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.123]) by rly-xi05.mx.aol.com (v86.11) with ESMTP id MAILRELAYINXI53-0519133026; Sun, 19 May 2002 13:30:26 -0400 Received: (from [email protected]) by lists5.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id g4JHQgD15042; Sun, 19 May 2002 11:26:42 -0600 X-Original-Sender: [email protected] Sun May 19 11:26:42 2002 Date: Sun, 19 May 2002 19:26:38 +0200 Message-Id: <[email protected]> From: "Jeffrey Chace" <[email protected]> Old-To: [email protected] Old-CC: [email protected] Reply-To: [email protected] X-Mailer: NeoMail 0.95 X-IPAddress: 62.234.199.87 Subject: [CHASE-L] Loads of new information at my website. I hope you will come by and visit. http://home.wanadoo.nl/j.b.chace I have added a new Chace and Cornell Family Letters section which contains letters from Thomas Chace and from Elijah Cornell Chace, the builder of the house about which I have recently posted to this list. The section will grow as I have time to transcribe more of the letters. I have made a MAJOR addition to the Genealogical contents of my site and added 14 Cornell-Chace/Chase Marriages. In researching the Genealogy of the Cornell Family available online at Cornell University, I looked for every mention of Cornell marriages to Chace/Chase family members, recorded the complete Cornell Descendancies for each marriage, and have listed these at my site Along with that, I recorded what marriage information was available from the Genealogy or from what I could find on the web. In addition, the complete Descendancy of each Chace/Chase marriage partner has been listed, if known. You may be able to find some information to help you break down your own brick walls. And, finally, I have added a link to Nathaniel Hawthorne's book The Whole History of Grandfather's Chair or True Stories From New England History, 1620-1808. This book can be found in its entirety online and tells the story of a chair brought to America by Lady Arbella with the Winthrop Fleet. The chair then travels through early American history and encounters many notable American's. There is also information about the Quakers as well as the Salem Witch Trials. I find it fascinating reading. Hope you'll come by and sign the guestbook.
