Hello, I have had the great privilege of receiving an email from the current owners of the Elijah Cornell Chase House giving historical information about the home. They have confirmed my inkling that the house mentioned in the letter of March 4, 1866, about which I posted earlier, was indeed on the same location as the current brick structure and became the kitchen of the house. Additionally (WOW!) they have emailed me a photo (circa 1895) of Elijah and his wife Abigail sitting around with their family outside the back of the old kitchen. The new brick house having been built in 1869 can also be seen.
