Hi All, This one is for the Aquila Chase descendants. Most of the time I post regarding William Chase and his descendants, but this list is for all Chases. I ran across a book on the web called, "LOVE'S ODYSSEY, THE LIFE OF THORNTON CHASE" by ROBERT H. STOCKMAN. It can be found at http://bahai-library.org/books/t.chase/ Thornton Chase's ancestory and genealogy is dealt with quite extensively and some of you may get some benefit from the information in finding your own Chase roots. I am glad of the fact that the thorny subject of Aquila's English roots is dealt with merely by saying, "APPARENTLY he came from Chesham, England. The date of his arrival in New England is unknown, but the records of the town meetings of Hampton, New Hampshire, on the Atlantic coast, indicate that he was granted land and settled there in 1640." There has been much said on this list about the lack of evidence for his origins being Chesham, so we can leave it at that. There are also two books by Thornton Chase about the Bahai religion online.
