Hi,ALL Is anyone interested in forming a COMMON database for the CHASE family? I have one containing 3,600 names,some 760 Named CHASE, but I am quite willing to exchange what I have with others prepared to do likewise. The objective being to make it easier for those of CHASE ancestry to trace their origin and to try to unravel some of the "mysteries" surrounding the family origins. I live in England and am quite prepared to delve into Manorial Records --IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN DONE-- There is still some considerable controversy regarding the early CHASE ancestry. For instance There is a claim that the first known CHASE ,(in America) William of the 1630 Winthrop Fleet was married to Mary Townley and that their son William was " ..of Rogate,Sussex Parish". If he was then he was certainly not registered at the Parish Church. Has anyone else got any ideas how the research in this group could be made more coherent I would like to hear them. Who else is carrying out/carried out research in England,Wivenhoe/Chesham etc How many members have WWW pages with their family tree posted?
