Hi, Chasers, I am new to the list, but a long time Chase researcher. I am wondering if anyone on the list has information on the death on Eli Chase, b 25 Aug 1785, Dutchess Co., NY, d 27 Jun 1828, "killed at the Galena Lead Mines, Jo Davies Co., IL. I have never veen able to find the facts of his death, whether it was an Indian rail, a mine accident or what. Even though the family lived in Fulton Co., IL I have found records of the farmers going to the Galina area in the off season. I did find that he did have a license to mine there, bbut that is all I have been able to find. Any one else working on this line? Eli was the son of Berry and Phoebe (WIXON) CHASE. Jeanne
