This is clearly in error, since it is refuted by a recorded court deposition filed by Aquila in Ipswich Mass. in 1666 wherein he gives his age as 48, making the year of his birth about 1618 ("Decendants of Aquila and Thomas Chase"; John Chase & Geo. Chamberlain, 1928).>> I think probably anything written by the above Mr. J. Montgomery Seaver should be thoroughly researched before accepting it. In the Chase Chronicle of July-Oct, 1930, Vol. 20, #3-4, Page 31, it gives the whole story on how he was charged by the Feds and the State of Mass. for mail fraud in as much as he had , among other things, arranged a plan for selling books purporting to give the records of various families back to the time of William the Conqueror. He had been receiving 300 to 400 pieces of mail per day. At the time of his arrest (& later conviction), he was the president of the American Historical- Genealogical Society. There are quite a few articles about the Chase family written by him and I think there may even be a short book about the Chase Family by him. It proves the old saw about being published does not make for accuracy or authenticity. Rex Chase
