    1. [CHASE-L] Removing of Data from the database
    2. KEITH HUME
    3. Of late I have had som,e requests to remove information about living persons from the Chase/Chace database. I cannot do it without I erase the whole database. The reason is that all that you see on the screen is generated by a script on the Host Server. I have been informed ,by Surname web that with over 12,000 names and details in the database it is at the limit they are prepared to accept. This is a shame for the system is way and above anyother I have seen as it enables searches to be made for places people whatever is in the DB. Now I am going to ask a question that puzzles me Why this need to Have details of living persons removed? Has anyone got any information on the misuse of data on Personal Databases? How about if you buy something over the Internet? I ordered some PC stuff about a year ago and gor an email from a guy who intercepted it. He did it to prove it could ber done. I do not know on what basis people use this information but the worst information you can put up for public examination here in the UK is that for recently DEAD people! If anyone wants to know why drop me a line.
