Hi all, The Chase and Chace bit was sometimes made worse by the clerks. One of my many great grandmothers Susan Adley Chase moved off Cape in the 1840's to Fall River. When she got married they spell it Chace because of the large number of Chaces (very distant relatives of course) in the area. At least when the children came she corrected the maiden spelling so I did not find it difficult to trace back. The problem is when you are new at this , you do not expect using computers , all the spelling changes that happen. Rick Arruda
