I am looking for information and living relatives of one of the most interesting relatives I have read and heard stories about ---Frank Ambrose Chase. He was born to Moses and Sarah (Ives) Chase in Bristol Township near Sun Prairie, WI 24 May 1866 and grew up in Sun Prairie. He married Belle Kanouse, 3 Sept 1890 and then moved to Viroqua, WI for a couple of years and then off to Spokane,WA. He had three children by Belle ---Jesse, Keith (Riley), & Jennie (they all lived in the Spokane area). Belle died 19 Jan 1898. Frank's second marriage was to Zelda Clay (when I'm not sure) and they had a daugther, Margaret (who married a Robert Younger; the Younger's had three children, Ann [a helicopter pilot in the San Francisco area], Judy [ had a ballet studio in Los Angles], and Keith [an actor on Broadway]). I don't know what happened to Zelda Clay, but Frank married a third time. His third wife was Nora Woodrift and they had one child, Sally. Frank's list of occupations is as impressive as his list of marriages. Raised as a Wisconsin farmboy, when he moved West he became a wood scout, timber jack, miner, quarryman, a merchant, real estate dealer, justice of the peace, postmaster, civil service commissioner, and a member of the Washington State Senate. He wrote a textbook on economics, and was a lecturer in 1921-22 in MO, KS, OK, and AR; and a radio conselor on the subjects of investments and home financing in the mid-1930's on station WIOD in Miami, FL. In 1932, he was director of the Federal Home Loan Bank, Winston-Salem, NC. In June 1933 he was called to Washington, DC by Pres Roosevelt to assist in setting up federal savings and loan associations. He was president of Chase Federal Savings & Loan, Miami from 1937-1939. He died in Miami, 16 Apr 1939, and his ashes were buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Spokane, WA. He was a 33rd degree Mason; and an honorary member of the Supreme Council A and A, Scottish Rite for the Southern Jurisdiction of the U.S. Does anyone know about Frank Ambrose Chase and any of his relatives, if so please e-mail me at: chase@twt.com Thanks.
