    1. [CHASE-L] CHASE Chronicle
    2. Dear Lonnie. Was so glad to receive your message today. A short time ago, I had posted a query asking if anyone could possibly give me any first names of Loyalist men at the time of my family dates and Lisa sent back a message with several names and Shadrach happens to be one included in the short list. Wouldn't it be something if THIS is the name of Samuel's father? After all the searching? Boy, in searching for this man, I always seem to be a day late and dollar short! The letter from Mrs. Gunning written in 1926 and the woman lived only an hour from my home here in Puyallup. Of course, the years are off a tad, myself not even being born then. Oh, I wish, I wish, I wish. But wishing won't help. Where did you get this issue of the CHASE Chronicles? I find it very interesting that she wrote of Samuel being born in Canada. I often wondered if that were possible since his birth date and place have been given only as "about". I felt I was pretty close when I found Clara Ann in an 1880 CA census wherein she said her mother was born in NH and father born in ME and Clara herself born in N.B. Samuel's place of birth could have been anywhere along the border, even MA. Clara's birth year and the birth years of her siblings are all correct. I wonder what she meant when she wrote "I think perhaps if I can get Samuel CHASE's father's family placed to 1870, I will know the rest"? Question. From whom do you descend? I dare not hope too much that Samuel is at last close to my grasp! Have hoped for so many years. But, still, I wish. Thank you again so much. Bobbie
