Good for you< John Gilman Chase--You quoted the man I mentioned some days ago on the Chase rootsweb---the President of the NEHGS only a few years ago---I believe I mentioned he was Pres. in 1989. He surely knew the true answer which you have just given. This book by Noble was published in 1967. That's too bad ---All of the Aquila descendants will not be able to claim the connection to the beautiful Manor House in Chesham . Has anyone looked in the records of the relations to the Chesham family--ie. Has anyone looked at records in Marlow, Bucks. where one of the Chases lived and was very prominent? I do wish you all well and hope you find the true answers to Aquila's link. Perhaps you should write an article for the NEHGS so that all of the other Aquila Chase descendants can learn the correct answers and not keep on and on with this belief. William of Cape Cod seemed to be much more straight forward--thank goodness. Hopefully you'll find your connection and professor in Kansas and discuss all of this. I shall have to dig out the name for you if you don't have it. Ginger in Az.
