Thank you, Lonnie, and Chasers You are amazing. You are always sharing something very important from the Internet and I for one am grateful to you for this. Thank you for sending that important bit of info. to all of us. Now---concerning the Coat of Arms---I have to add my little bit here.: Somehow all genealogists---or non genealogists--or people just doing research on an individual family have always had a fascination with these symbols. We all love them---it seems---We all want to link up with one---it seems. I'm no different from anyone else----so------when I was rustling around and working on the Chase Coat-of-Arms I too wanted to know more ,so when I was living in England I convinced my genealogy instructor ---Betty Brown, ( who was then on the Executive Committee for the Society of Genealogists in London), to give us a lecture on the subject---which she did. After her talk she opened up for discussion and at that time we talked about all of the varied BUT SIMILAR Chase Coat of Arms. Her explanation was --- Sometimes if you see a Coat of Arms for a particular family and all look similar but not all exactly the same, they are related somehow but from different branches and different areas of the country. I know that during all of my digging I was under the impression that the Chesham group was the only one that had a proven right to display them. That hasn't stopped most any of the other Chases however and I doubt if most of us---particularly those of us who are American ,Canadian or australian would let that stop us from using a Coat of Arms. Some of you will come up with the real official reason for all of this.---GOOD I can see it now---Big Newspaper article-- Internet Chase Descendants fill jails with illegal use of Coat-of Arms. We would give them a run for their money, wouldn't we? Pertaining to my book: I've had a lot of queries asking if they can obtain my book. I would be more than happy for you all to have one if you so desired but I don't have any extra copies of it. My husband thinks I should have more printed, but it would be quite complicated as I have sent all of the original pictures, maps, etc. back to the rightful cousin or owner, and it might be a long process to get them back. Thank you for your kind words. I never knew there would be such a huge response to it. I still have mounds of data to share with you---one is on the Butter family connected to the Chase/Shermans . In the autumn I plan to start putting that together to share with you all along with my Chase---Chace data. (You probably already have all the Chase data anyway). There are so many of you out there who have lots more expertise than I ,so perhaps I won't have to send any more info. to you all. I think we will be ever grateful to Keith for pulling all of the information together for us and sharing it. I wonder if he doesn't wake up at night wondering what he has been torturing himself for as I know we are all 'pests' at times. --Or perhaps after he has been working on his computer for hours and hours and hours he sits in his chair with his hands hanging over his chair and tells himself --"I think that Chase/Chace line is a pain in the you know what". regardless, I hope he knows we're grateful for all of this work. Now some of you are very lucky to be going off to the Boston area soon. I hope I have poked at the guilt bone again. Hopefully the William descendants will take time to explore the Freetown, Cape Cod, Yarmouth areas and have lots to share with your Chase cousins when you return. I have some favorite places and people for you to link up with if you are interested . Ginger in Az.
