Dear Beth, Genpia, First of all---When writing to you -e-mail---how do we address it? Just Genpia??? All of the William line undoubtedly is terribly happy to hear you connect with William, that you live right in the middle of this ROOTs area of the Chases Berkley--Freetown, Ma. and also they're undoubtedly pleased to learn that you too are interested in pursuing genealogy. How could we be so lucky? Also, that your cousin Lisa in Canada communicates with you all of the time and she connects with the Humes. (Keith's Clan) Undoubtedly there will be much to share when you all return from the family reunion. Now about Freetown and Berkley---This part of Ma. is so cozy, rather quiet, and certainly a far cry from the Boston area. I hope you will share some of that small town feeling with all of us. You mentioned the cemeteries in Berkley as well as Freetown. I had to laugh a little as it brought back memories to me. Though I have not been fortunate enough to have been in Berkley (and do hope to), I have been to the Chace Cemetery in Freetown with my 1,2,3rd cousins. In fact, one of them spiced up the place by having her picture taken in front of one of the headstones you refer to in your message to me. She laid down flat on her back in front of a Chace headstone and then proceeded to put a big flower in her mouth that was sticking straight up in the air. I love that picture as I added it to my book. (Of course you have to expect that kind of behavior---as we represent the WILD WESTERN CHACES--Oh., Mo., Ne.). I apologize for sending off Blanche's tel. number (the local Chace/Hathaway Historian) as I realize she is probably not well enough to receive phone calls even though I know she would be more than happy to share. Forgive me. Anything you can share with this group will be well received I'm sure. To share about the history of the towns would indeed be interesting. We are grateful to Keith Hume for "taking the ball and running with it." The Group is getting bigger and bigger . Only an Australian--turned British could possibly have such patience. I know the Aquila descendants will be happy when they once solve the problem of the links---if any---with the Chesham Aquila---- and the William group will be happy to find Mary's last name. Those who know that Mary's last name was NOT Townley---will be happy to learn that people have accepted that. All of this time poor Keith has to accept all of this information and then try to straighten it all out. Mind boggling. Then again, we all should be quite happy. So many people who had ancestors who came over 3 or 4 generations later certainly can't link up as well as we can at all. Enough of this. Thanks again for your bright and airy message. Don't go away. Ginger in Az.
