In response to Loyalist or Tories, not all the Cape men who went to NB were going because they were driven out. According to some of the Cape Cod histories, many Cape men went to NB because it was closer to the fishing grounds. By the 1750's the land on the Cape was starting to show signs of exhaustion, thus many turn to farming and fishing. Nothing is as cut and dry as I have seen the conversation become on Loyalist. If the Chases were so content most of the population would be still located on the Cape. Rick Arruda
