Re: Lisa's posting about the Aquila mentioned in the "Tales of Old Chesham" -- If this is the Aquila, son of Richard, b. 1580, then he was indeed a Chesham Chase, a fact which never has been in dispute. It's the Hampton NH Aquila b. 1618, and his brother Thomas, whose genesis is a mystery. (By the way Lisa, if yopu do ever come back across that book, I would be interested in its publication details so that I might run down a copy.) The name Aquila is (New Testament) Biblical, being first mentioned by Luke in Acts 18:2 in reference to a Jew who, if I remember right, had had to flee Rome. Paul also refers to an Aquila in several of his letters. Dick C.
