Hi all of you out there, I love this corresponding with all of you Torys. After being a member of the boring DARs here with their attitude I find this is really stimulating. It is interesting that so many of the Chase descendants in later years (excepting of course the WWs) did almost anything to get out of fighting---being Quakers, paying their way out of Civil War etc. It all boils down to the fact that they hated to fight in wars apparently. I am not even sure any of them became great generals. Now you certainly don't see that with the Sherman Clan---connected to the early Chases and William of Cape Cod. They were WAR ORIENTED.
