    3. Karen, Here is some info I found on Abner Anthony. You may already have some of this info but since you are working with CDs, perhaps you do not. I found it in the LDS database, online: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=search_all1. asp ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 1. Abner ANTHONY - Ancestral File - Multi-generational pedigree Gender: M Birth/Christening: 11 Dec 1739 Swansea, Bristol, Mass Abner ANTHONY (AFN: PC2T-R3) Pedigree Sex: M Family Birth: 11 Dec 1739 Swansea, Bristol, Mass Parents: Father: Benjamin ANTHONY (AFN: 2S0Z-WC) Family Mother: Martha LUTHER (AFN: BX1Q-P1) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 2. Looks like Sybil's father, or brother, may have been John D Chase: Abner ANTHONY Sex: M Marriage(s): Spouse: Sybil I. CHASE Marriage: 25 Jun 1759 Swansea, Bristol, Massachusetts Parents: Relatives: John D. CHASE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 3. Looks like Abner Anthony, and perhaps Sybil, moved to Rehoboth by 1777! The following Abner may just be a child born later in their life, or from a second marriage. While possible, I think their oldest son Asa at 17 was a little young to have a son, he would have to have married at 16. Wonder how old your Sibbel or Lilebell ANTHONY was who married Asa SMITH of Dighton, 4 Sep 1793? If 17-18, she could have been a slightly older sister of this Abner! I, too, am an Alden descendant, through CLARISA8 JONES (ELIZABETH7 RICHMOND, NATHANIEL6 RICHMOND, SYLVESTER5 RICHMOND, ELIZABETH4 ROGERS, ELIZABETH3 PABODIE, ELIZABETH2 ALDEN, JOHN1 ALDEN) who was born 1802 in Dartmouth, Bristol, MA, and died 1866. She married ALVAH CHACE 31 Jan 1823 in Dighton, Bristol, MA, son of CALEB CHACE and ROSAMUND BULLOCK. He was born 02 Jul 1797 in Dighton, Bristol, MA, and died 02 Dec 1881 in Dighton, Bristol, MA. I'm interested in whether they may have had a daughter or a granddaughter named Sybil, Sibbel, or Lilebell. I've been searching for the family of Sibbel or Lilebell ANTHONY who married Asa SMITH of Dighton, 4 Sep 1793, [Rehoboth Vital Records, Search & Research CD] and recently received the clue that she may have been the daughter of Abner & Sybil [CHASE] ANTHONY. I've checked the Search & Research Bristol Co. CD, but only a surname index of the Swansea records is included. I could find no mention of Abner ANTHONY in the archives for this mailing list or in the Rootsweb ANTHONY surname message board. There were several occurrences of Anthony & Sybil in the World Connect family trees, but only one, Jim Bullock's, gave any children - two sons Reuben & Asa. The one mention in Vol 87, a genealogy of the CHASE family, is the only reference to Abner ANTHONY in the Register and it does not follow the family to later generations. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
