Jan, You are very welcome! Wish they had been able to come up with the definitive link between your Sybil Anthony and Ander Anthony and Sybil Chase. Still it looks like you are on the right track. Now you need to scour records for Sawnsea, Rehoboth and surrounding countryside. Once you make the connection, you'll tap into the William Chase/Chace line! Good Luck and Happy Hunting! Jan Researching: PARKISON, HEDGES, DOWNEY SAWYER, VIETS, QUELCH ALSPACH, PETERS, BRIDWELL, SPANGLER BRUMBAUGH, RODGERS, WATSON ROBSON, MASSEY, KEMP, SPRY, DENNY ELLS, RICKARDS CHACE, CHAMPLIN, CARPENTER, BULLOCK NORTHROP/NORTHRUP/NORTHUP, BANE GRAY, KELTY, CONNER P.S. The Chase-L helped me work my Chace line out last Fall. It went thru Dighton, MA to William. His descendants were everywhere in MA, though Aquila may have even more! -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, April 28, 2002 5:05 PM To: Jan Rodriguez Subject: RE: [CHASE-L] Sybil Chase Jan, thank you so much for carrying my query over to the CHASE list. I have so little on Sibbel ANTHONY that any clue is priceless. What I do have is the marriage record in Rehoboth, 4 Sep 1793, and birth records for Sibbel & Asa's children - all surnamed SMITH, all listed in the records of Dighton, Bristol Co., MA, but all entered on the same page as though at the same time: Salley, b. 6 Mar 1794 Asa [my 3x Great Grandfather], b. 5 Mar 1796, John, b. 26 Jun 1798 Polley, b. 10 Feb 1801, d. 22 Aug 1802 Polley, b. 10 Feb 1803 Seth, b. 1 Feb 1805 Patty, b. 10 Jan 1807 Jonathan Anthony, b. 11 Jan 1809 Lorane Ann, b. 10 Apr 1811 Are any of these names ones that seem to run in the CHASE families? There would be 16 years between the birth of Salley and that of Lorane Ann, so a 17 year gap for Abner & Sybil [CHASE] ANTHONY would be entirely possible. Between marriage age - say 18 - and menopause in the mid to late 40s, a woman has potentially 30 years during which she can bear children. My 3x Great Grandmother Julia Ann [CLARK] DUNHAM, had her first child at 19, in 1834, and her youngest, my 2x Great Grandfather, at age 44, in 1859. And I still remember my college roommate's mother who had two babies while Annie was in college!.. Thanks again.. Jane > Thank you Lonnie, Harriet and Jackson.
