    2. --part1_82.224ac856.2ad4d807_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit We Yankees survive on lobsters and chowda..Quahog chowda, that is. So thick that your spoon stands by itself...none of that red New York tomato stuff. Clam cakes and steamers for horses d'ervers. A little brown bread is good..and punkin' pie for desert...We don't like to brag, but all fifty states now have Thanksgiving that started in Massachusetts...or as they say in Texas.."Massatoosetts" The only snakes we know are on a New England State Flag that says, "Don't tread on me". This accounts for the Texas expression..something like "don't screw around with Texas" The New England expression is more eloquent and has a touch of "Hahvaaad" to it...The same "Hahvaaad" where we "paaarch howa caaahs." You can keep those Cowboys...we're still Patriots here. Colonel Frank Chace, USMC (Ret) member Sons of the Revolution, Free Soilers Party aka the Republican Party, White Anglo Saxon Protestant Episcopalian, and Far Right Wing Conservative....and a "Yankee Doodle" to you too!. --part1_82.224ac856.2ad4d807_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <[email protected]> Received: from rly-yb04.mx.aol.com (rly-yb04.mail.aol.com [172.18.146.4]) by air-yb05.mail.aol.com (v89.10) with ESMTP id MAILINYB52-1008193449; Tue, 08 Oct 2002 19:34:49 -0400 Received: from lists5.rootsweb.com (lists5.rootsweb.com [207.40.200.41]) by rly-yb04.mx.aol.com (v89.10) with ESMTP id MAILRELAYINYB48-1008193434; Tue, 08 Oct 2002 19:34:34 2000 Received: (from [email protected]) by lists5.rootsweb.com (8.12.4/8.12.4) id g98NXcH3029312; Tue, 8 Oct 2002 17:33:38 -0600 X-Original-Sender: [email protected] Tue Oct 8 17:33:38 2002 Date: Tue, 08 Oct 2002 18:34:00 -0500 From: Kit Chase <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [CHASE-L] messages Old-To: Arlene Nickell <[email protected]> Old-Cc: [email protected] Message-id: <[email protected]> MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit X-Accept-Language: en-us User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:0.9.4.1) Gecko/20020508 Netscape6/6.2.3 References: <[email protected]> To: [email protected] X-Mailing-List: <[email protected]> archive/latest/4897 X-Loop: [email protected] Precedence: list X-Mailer: Unknown (No Version) The Tom Chase family from north Texas is willing to toss their stetson in the map-circle-idea. Would kinda like to meet the other cousins; maybe exchange barbecue recipies for rattlesnakes or whatever you yankees eat! 3. (Rex and Richard et al, I believe there is enough Family History content so as not to breach the concepts of this list. ) Most interesting,Frank BUT I am confused especially about the White Anglo Saxon bit. I can only assume you got it from the people your Chase ancestors married for you should be aware that the Chase family name although European was not derived from either the Anlges , Saxons or a combination of the 2 races.. It is possible that if one of your ancestors was an employee or serf to a Chase family then they may have adopted the name when surnames started to be used. As for being a Far Right Wing Conservative. While the term may be OK in the States in the rest of the English speaking world it would be termed Fascist and I am sure that would not be your politics, Keith Hume " He who blows his own trumpet is in a very small band" Emerson, I believe? > > Colonel Frank Chace, USMC (Ret) member Sons of the Revolution, Free Soilers > Party aka the Republican Party, White Anglo Saxon Protestant Episcopalian, > and Far Right Wing Conservative....and a "Yankee Doodle" to you too!. >
