Clear DayAll this discussion about mapping of our surname jogged my memory about a site I had seen once. I was able to find it again. You can put in any surname and it shows the distribution of that surname for the years 1850, 1890, 1920 and 1990 in the US. I don't believe this is exactly what you are talking about doing, but it may be a start and there may be other things on the site that would help (what sounds like a monumental task to me!!) in the creation of such a map for the Chase surname. http://genealogy.lv/search/US Surname Tools.htm Edie Palmer
