    3. Keith, In my OPIONION :-D it would be beneficial to give other locations besides were we currently reside. I live in NY state, have been here for 13 years, and NONE of my Chases ever resided in NY (oophs, my great-aunt taught in Jamestown, NY for a couple years while she wast teaching.) This project can serve 2 purposes (and many more I am sure.) 1) To share information and connect lines - find cousins? 2) To assist each other when possible with local resources. For the first purpose we could list: 1) Our "lineage" for example: Oscar (8), Abel, Jr(7), Abel (6), Ezekiel (5), Roger (4), Thomas (3), Thomas (2), Aquilla (1). 2) Their migration: MA(circa 1640)> Maine > Meigs County, OH(1817). For the 2nd: Country, state/province/etc, maybe even county. In the US, there is some pattern to the issuing of zip codes. They start in the NE working south and west. Though neighboring towns do not necessarily have numbers that are consecutive. The basic zip code is 5 numbers long and there is one for each postal office. With the extended code (four additional numbers) it can narrow it down to the street, building or even an office. Here are two sites that can take zip codes and translate them into localities. http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/lookup_ctystzip.html http://www.getzips.com/zip.htm Sue Edwards NY (but born and raised a Buckeye) --- KEITH HUME <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi,Ellie, > Thank you for your views. 3. Hi,Sue, With regard to your suggestions they are all good and Ellie got me thinking about the migration. I have already mapped out a page as an example of my own details and will include the migration with each descendant. The Web site that converts Zip codes into actual locations sounds great so for those who wish to include their Zip Code I will add a link to the Zip Conversion site. Keep the ideas coming!
