    1. [CHASE-L] Map of Old Philadelphia
    2. KEITH HUME
    3. I am trying to obtain a copy of a map of Philadelphia as it was at the time of the war of Independence. Searches of Philadelphia and Penn archives have got me nowhere and searching the Libray of Congress did not help. In fact when I broadened the search at the Lib. of Con by searching " War of Independence" I was presented with a screen full of references but NONE referred to the American War of Independence !!!! I would appreciate any help. While on the subject my ancestor was "....Bound as an apprentice as a Currier and Tanner" also in Phil. in 1773 Does anyone know if the records of such Indentures would still exist. This would be in a form similar to those Indentures signed by some immigrants to work for their "owner" for a certain period, Keith Hume

    3. Keith asked about copies of maps of Philadelphia as it was during the time of the American War for Independence. I have found that if you search on eBay, you are sure to find most anything! Yes, and sure enough, there are at least three reproductions offered. Just go to eBay's site and type in numbers 720017332 or the numbers 720017299, and you may find something which would interest you. I came up with 85 matches when I typed in "Philadelphia Map" into eBay's search engine. I have no financial interest in eBay or these maps - other than my own money I have spent there! I did buy a very nice reproduced map from 1870 of Barrington, RI, showing my ancestors' names and dwelling places. Judy Chace Needham
