    3. I Have now uploaded some pages to the CHASE/CHACE web site,(www.surnameweb.org/centers/c/chase/index.html The item, Image map,is at the bottom of the opening page.I have placed it there until I start loading the finished pages when it will be moved higher in the "Menu" The opening page gives 2 alternatives for accessing a persons web page. Constructive comments are invited from all Please note the Item "Comments" Immediately above it relates to the site not the Image map project, Please note the comments about loading times. I have put a straight Image of a map of the US up so people can see how long it takes to load. I feel that it may be necessary to break the maps into sections because for the sake of the Image Maps the scale needs to be reasonably large and, relatively, states such as Rhode Island are not, Keith

I use a cable modem so the loading time was very quick. The pages were easy to read. If you feel that the map needs to be broke up may I suggest that the northeastern states be enlarged even more or allow the map to be enlarged. Good job Rochelle Jacobs

    3. Hello Keith and fellow Chase researchers: I have a 56K modem (we just haven't done the DSL thing yet, although I know we should) and the page loaded fairly quickly (less than 30 seconds). I agree that you may have to break up the map into sections, just to accomodate some of our smaller eastern states. Nice start Keith. Thanks for all that you do. Warmly, Margaret Chase --- KEITH HUME <[email protected]> wrote: > I Have now uploaded some pages to the CHASE/CHACE > web > site,(www.surnameweb.org/centers/c/chase/index.html > The item, Image map,is at the bottom of the opening > page.I have placed it there until I start loading > the finished pages when it will be moved higher in > the "Menu" > The opening page gives 2 alternatives for accessing > a persons web page. > Constructive comments are invited from all > Please note the Item "Comments" Immediately above it > relates to the site not the Image map project, > Please note the comments about loading times. 3. Keith, I did your test and it loaded very quickly. But I have the high speed connection. Thanks for getting this project underway. I live in Alberta in Western Canada, but I am researching Chase families from the Maritime region of Canada (especially Nova Scotia). When I find the place of birth of my elusive Thomas Chase (born abt 1792) who lived in Lunenburg Co, NS and used the alias Thomas Linnell, I can expand my research to that area. I agree that it would be nice to to be able to connect with others who are researching the same area. 3. Keith, what a great piece of work. The information about you is interesting and well presented. I hoped THE CHASE sign was in your garden . . . alas, I see I can't give you credit for those beautiful flowers. Thanks for all your (ongoing) work! Jean Edwards, Citrus Heights California
