    1. [CHASE-L] The Rev Ezra Chase version of Aquila's ancestry
    2. I tried to run the basis for this Aquila story down a year or so ago, and could find nothing factual that would offer even a hint of support for it. Couldn't find anyone else who had heard the story that had ever come across anything that might give it credibility. Among other problems with the story is the recorded fact that "Old father Chase of Hundrick" (as Thomas, father of Richard, was known) was buried in the Chesham Parish in 1586, and there are also Parish records of him having several children after 1544, so if there was, in fact, a Thomas Chase who served King Henry (and who died in 1544) it was not this one. Given that part of the story is erroneous, there is little reason to give any credibility to the rest of it--especially since there is no evidence to support it. Dick Chase
