Alvin Wood Chase, M.D. published these in the mid 19th century. His publications were touted as being second only to the Bible in total sales.     3. I happen to own one of his books(2nd Edition 1883). Dr. Chase was a Family Physician and Bee Keeper. A saying on the front page of the book says "To prevent Disease is Better than to Cure". I've read thru the book a bit and found it to be very interesting in how things were done in the late 1800's. I laughed when I noticed he took up 10 1/2 pages to explain the importance of a bath and how it will help you to stay health. If you get a chance to buy one of his books do it, you will enjoy reading it.
