Okay, before I get e-mail, I know that there is no proof or documentation of the relationship between these people. I know that the debate has gone on for a long time and at least back to 1936 writings. Now, I'll ask my question: In the Genealogy of Rev. Ezra Chase compiled by William Applebie Daniel Eardsley, M.A. with additions by Florence Adams Chase (IL) and Angus Ferris chase (NY) 1936, News Press this statement is made: "Thomas Chase was seargeant-at-arms to King Henry the VIII and died in 1544, three years before his royal master. His son Richard Chase, was born in Chesham, England, in 1542, and Aquilla, son of Richard, was born at the same place in 1580. The family moved to Conway, England, and here our first American ancestor was born. He had three brothers: Richard, Aquilla, and Thomas. Aquilla and Thomas accompanied William to America, but Richard, the eldest of the family, remained in England as aide-de-camp to the Duke of Wellington." My question: Has anyone pursued or have any documentation about this Thomas who was a seargent-at-arms or this Richard who was an aide-de-camp? It seems that holding these positions would put them at least in a spot to be mentioned or documented somewhere. Perhaps, they are two that could be researched to shed light on whether or not the other relationships truly exist?
