Thanks Ginger, for your inspiration to really start on this research! I have the book Genealogies of Rhode Island Families from the NE Historical & Genealogical Register, and have been really studying it the past few days - in between work and other obligations! This much I knew when I started: My grandmother was Win(n)ifred Bertha Chace who married William Albert Norman in 1911. I believe she was born about 1887 and died of "milk leg" (now known as phlebitis) in 1937. Her mother was Lucinda Wheaton Slade and she died in 1945 about the age of 78-80. Lucinda married George Albert Chace. All her life, she was a Quaker. It is my understanding that she came from the Rehobeth/Swansea area. Doing research I find that there were many Chases/Chaces who married Wheatons and Slades. It is my gut feeling that George Albert Chace came from that area, also. So, using my book, I think that he was descended from William Sr, William Jr, and one of William's 7 sons - of whom at least 4 were members of the Society of Friends in Swansea.
