Hi All, Awhile back on this list people were talking about the location of the Aquila Chase tablet that was donated by John Carroll Chase and members of the Chase Family Association and hung in the NEHGS in Boston. I am sending a link to the First Settlers of Newbury site where you can see a picture of the tablet. I am going to join this society when I get moved back to New England this Fall. I would like very much to be involved in the restoration and preservation of the burial ground. It was a mess when I visited it. And the story they have on the site about the tablet is not entirely correct. They said it was in a crate from 1964 to 1989 when it was donated to the Sons and Daughter of the First Settlers. The tablet was hanging in the lobby of the NEHGS in the early 1970's because I saw it there. I lived just a few doors down from there when I went to nursing school at Mass General.
