With all the conversation about people named James Chase, I thought I might as well add this one in case anyone knows anything about him. In my tree I have a Caroline Chase, b. Dec 1842 in Haverhill, MA, married before 1860 John Barnes, died 9 SEP 1907 in Ballston, Saratoga County New York. According to Family Search, her parents are James Chase and Lydia Alby, both born in Massachusetts. Anyone know anything about James and Lydia? I know some about Caroline and John if that interests anyone. I suspicion, but do not yet know of, a connection between Caroline and a Lydia Chase, b. 11 NOV 1789, Haverhill, MA, married Ephraim COLBY, Jr., also of Haverhill, 24 JUL 1806, and having 8 children bet 1806 - 1831.
