My father was the last of my Chase line that I have been able to find. He had 2 daughters, My grandfather's brothers had no children. My greatgrandfather had only the one son and great great grandfather is my brick wall. Would the tests do me any good or a waste of my money? Of course my father died in 1993 before we knew much about DNA testing in genealogy. Thanks for your time. Betty ChaseDNAteam@aol.com wrote: In a message dated 8/25/2006 9:57:06 A.M. When will you be testing through that line of the family. Thanks for an answer. Bob Bob, I am not very knowledgeable concerning the mtDNA but since your Mother was a Chase, she would pass the mtDNA to both her sons and her daughters--so, you should have the same mtDNA as your Mother and her Mother, etc. The mtDNA stops with you, however, since you do not pass this along to your children. There is a mtDNA test for both males and females. If you are interested, you can do this by going to the Family Tree DNA web site and select "Chase" group--or, I can order the test for you if you send me your name, address and phone number.
