ALL, I am sincerely touched by all the wishes and thanks I have received and also the wishes of good luck in my new endevours. HOWEVER I should make it clear. I AM NOT LEAVING THE LIST. To those who asked what was involved in uploading and maintaining the Chase Site I would thank them for their interest but feel that a little experience of Web Site authoring an use of FTP and Telnet programmes is very desireable in this case. The database uses by far and away the best Gedcom to Html converter I have ssen. None of the converting which produces masses of files each one of which you have to upload to the site. The whole thing is run by a "script" and all that need to be done is to upload the revised gedcom, Telnet a single command and in 20 seconds an 11,000 name database is there on site with features none of the other programmes I have seen has. The Researcher page is another example of a "script" which gets the "host" computer to do all the work. I have always considered the site was at least a 2 person job to cover all that needed to be done. I am sad that I never completed the ARCHIVEs page as I intended. I will be puting a page giving some General sites in the USA as well as the UK ones I have there already but it is an ENORMOUS task to list all the State Archives AND their County sites together with a first hand review of each. Most of the sites are listed by GENWEB but I would be interested in finding if there was a good possibility of finding CHASE their. In this regard I consider the Eastern States Land Records site onr of the best on the WEB. I will be puting the page on the site,that includes my review, with in the next few days. It is a MUST visit. You will see why.
