    1. [CHASE-L] Samuel CHASE
    2. Hi to all searching for parents of Samuel CHASE of New Brunswick. I am excited over a fiche just received. Wrote a rather long letter to my children and told them I felt "cautious excitement" and also "cautious optimisim"! I plan on searching much further but, as I told my kids, this is the first time I've ever seen the name CHASE written in an account with Moore's Mill. Also, can understand how easy it would have been for the family to cross over the border from Calais, ME into St. Stephen. It talks about St. David, and the whole area that contained my family. A quick note from the book. It said James and Jones DYER came from Machias, ME to Calais but their origins seem to be Providence, RI. James died by drowning in his early manhood but left four children-names the sons-and 2 girls as Mrs. CHASE and Mrs. Westbrook KNIGHT. The years and names and places are all where and what they should be, so am now going to try and find a girl, maiden name DYER, who married a CHASE. I realize this could be another CHASE daughter but it is another clue and I'm scarcely breathing till I find out who they were. This fiche is "Annals of Calais, Maine and St. Stephen, New Brunswick", # 6093224. Has anyone out there done research on the possiblility of Samuel's mother being a DYER? Have had so many false leads, I'm trying not to let myself get too hopeful but can't seem to help it. Bobbie
