Hello! I have what appears to be the original marriage certificate of my great-great grandparents, Ann Eliza CHASE and John Sheldon BROWN. It reads: This is to Certify That John S. Brown of Pawtuxet in the State of Rhode Island and Ann E. Chase of Portsmouth in the State of Rhode Island were By me Joined together in HOLY MATRIMONY on the twenty fourth day of December in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five in the Presence of G. Morton Albert G. Morton M. W. Morton Minister of the Gospel My question - has anyone run across Albert Morton, and do you know what church he was minister of on December 24, 1855? Since the bride was from Portsmouth, my guess would be somewhere in that town, but it's only a guess. As a side comment, if anyone has any connections to either Ann Eliza CHASE (daughter of Benjamin Franklin CHASE and Priscilla ANTHONY), or John Sheldon Brown (son of Sheldon BROWN and Penelope HARRINGTON), I'd love to hear from you.
