Our info says that Emma J. CHASE was born 27 April 1843, and married Daniel SHERMAN on 24 Feb 1867 in Tonowanda, Erie Co., NY. Emma died on 6 Aug 1918, and is bur: Double Branch Cem., Butler, Bates Co., MO. She and Daniel had seven knowm children. All of the census info after their marriage indicates she was born in NY, but ???? Sound familar to anyone?? The 1850 census shows a couple possibles, but ???? Keith I can trace back to Samuel Chase of Luton b1679, d10.10.1758. There is believed to be a connection to the Buckinghamshire Chases including Aquila, but this has never been established beyond doubt.. This possibly because Samuel was a Baptist and was not baptised in his infancy. Hence lack of records. Good evening All, I have now reconstructed the Chase/Chace Website with a few exception of a relatively small nature. A few pages need bringing up to date. Having not managed to update the site since I obtained Broadband I had not appreciated firstly how some sections loaded in minutes where previously one section took nearly 3 hours. Also I could have the website opened while I made additions/alterations via FTP transfer. There have been a few queries regarding the Chase/Chace database but if this is accessed via the Chase/Chace website then I encountered no problen and in fact quite enjoyed using the "Relationship" facility to find how I related to others. 2 of the biggest sections are the 2 versions of the Chase Chronicles. The first of these is a complete transcription, including pictures and ads, made by the tireless Lonnie and Maryetta Chase nd each issue is indexed The second is not complete but has been broken down into separete articles which I have catergorised for Aquila,William,Thomas and genral caregories. I would like your opinions as to which format you prefer as I believe that having both on the site is stretching the good relationship between us and the WebHost. In the very near future I should have gained access to the data in the database. I know that some of you have been concerned about details of Living individuals I believe it may be possible to remobe Birth dates from all thos who have not got details of death. To plough through 12,500 names t edit each one is a task I am not prepared to undertake so if the Group, as a whole, has not objection I will see if it is possible to remove Birth dates of Living individuals, Finally, I was pleased to see the sudden increase in the DNA project. Certainly it looks as if, given enough tests that analysis will prove to a high degree of certainty the descendancy of those to both William and Aquila and possibly Thomas. For those of you, like myself , who are descended from a female Chase, we may have to grin and bear unless like me you have definitive proof that your female Chase/Chace ancestor was the daughter of a Chase/Chace father then that would be some consolation. Ok I have "rattled " on sufficiently so I will sign off, drink my cocoa and go to bed, and look forward to hearing your views re the Site. nd maybe any suggestions for improving. at www.chase.genealogysurnames.com Finally, I use large type on the Index page as it lessens the strain on my eyesight and , doubtless others also Keith Hume

Doris, Many thanks for checking Wallace Fairbanks Chase. I sent for and received his death certificate and Wallace was born 18 Feb. 1882, born in Virginia. He died at the Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 67 years. Mabel is probably the one I need to research (now that you have found her name),in order to find the two sons they had and to learn a little more about their family. Thank you for taking the time to check and send the e-mail.
