Is published and on the Mayflower Descendant Legacy. It seems that the Chase and Baker lineages intertwine according to these documents. There are also numerous vital records of Chase family members from Massachusetts. I printed out a copy of his will and am in the process of reading it. Below is some of what he mentions. NOTE: I have not chnaged any spelling. It is as you see it. He mentions two sons and his wife Mary in his will. a son Benjamine, a son Willam, my wife Mary, and he states- I Doe make my wife Mary aforsaid sole exequitrix .... and Doe appoint my Naighbors Robert Dennis and Richard Tayler tailer overseers of this my last Will" there was no real estate mentioned and the inventory was dated 24 September, 1659. Any comments on this will? I do not know who in the William Chase lineages has it, or if it was copied. As I stated earlier, I just recently was able to make my connection to William Chase. I have not seen any genealogies on his lineages at all and would be interested in knowing the titles of any books out there in reference to his lineages, or any articles which would further my education in regards to my ancestor. Molly, he only mentioned his two sons and his wife Mary. Sorry there were no other names mentioned other than what is above. If you have any further wuestions, let me know. I will try and help if at all possible. 3. Dear John & Derek, I cannot remember at present where the will of William Chase is located, though I have a copy lying around someplace. It didn't occur to me until just now that I'd read it. The most memorable thing about the document, and the reason I am now remembering it, is that William Chase commented that his son, ( I am paraphrasing, as I do not have the text memorized) William Jr., would receive a very small amount "as he hath had enough of me" during my life. Legend has it that William Jr was a very disagreeable child, and caused much aggravation to his parents! I will try to find my source, and let everyone know where it was. Regards, Lisa Zajkowski

    3. Good afternoon, While I have just recently discovered my Chase lineage, I was wondering if anyone has come across their Chase ancestors who came on the Mayflower? I descend from Wm. Chase of Yarmouth. While looking through records I have here at home, I ran across his will. There are several Chase families listed on the Mayflower Descendant Legacy and Ma. vital records. 3. Hello, I read the following with interest: << I have had a request to delete the birth dates of living persons from a section of the CHASE Dbase. To do this I would have to delete dates of birth for all living persons in the database. This may include some that are obviously dead but have no date of death recorded.>> Most groups with which I am familiar do including the living persons but do not give the birth dates (for whatever reason...vanity, junk mail, etc.). The names and place of residence (at least the state or country or city) are given and then in place of a birthdate, the term "living" is used. To avoid having to delete the birth dates of those dead and for whom there is no death date (or when the person is so old, it has to be assumed he is dead), the word "deceased" is placed in the death date. In this manner, there is something in the death date and the GEDCOM is happy. I believe the LDS church (PAF) uses the above method. I know Ancestral Quest uses it in this manner. I find having the names of living persons to be invaluable since I have had to trace down to living descendants with the hope of finding something about the common ancestors. Also, it is most important to know the birthdates (& place of birth) of those assumed dead (100 years after birth?? 105?? I do not know when the assumption should be made - but that is another story!) I think we are on the way to establishing a great site. Rex Gilman Chase

    3. Dear Keith, I would suggest instead, that everyone who submitted a Chase GedCom without first editing the birth dates of living individuals, by changing the date to "Private," send a list of the people for whom they want the birth date deleted. This would require you to enter the word "private" in all those spaces, but it seems quite unnecessary to deprive the rest of the list of important dates of birth of ancestors we share, whom are already deceased. Then, advise the senders that it is always prudent to edit their GedComs with the word "Private" BEFORE they share their info. Good Luck, Lisa Zajkowski

    3. In regard to the lineage displayed for Rebecca Chase, there is, of course, a major problem with the indicated relationships for the Aquila Chase who is shown as (1) the son of Richard, (2) the husband of Martha Jellison, (3) father of a William Chase, and (4) dying in 1670. It is a recorded fact (London Parish records) that the Aquila who married Martha Jellison (in London in 1606) was buried in there in 1643/4. Children born to that marriage were: Anne, Martha, Sara, Elizabeth, Joane, and Aquila. The son Aquila was born in 1626, so he is not the Aquila (b. 1618) who showed up in 1640 in Hampton NH, and who died in Newbury MA in 1670. There is no record of a son Thomas or a son William. (Note also the listing in the Rebecca Chase lineage would make Martha only 13 years old when her alleged son William was born !) It seems clear from the factual documents that seem to currently be available that, while Richard Chase and Joan Bishop ("Byshoppe") are recorded as having a son Aquila bp. 7 Aug 1580, there is more than passing uncertainty about both this Aquila's marriage and his children (if any, in both cases). If he, in fact, married Martha Jelliman, as commonly seems to be listed in many assumed lineages, then he died in London and is father to neither the Aquila and Thomas who came to Hapmpton NH, nor their sometimes-alleged brother William. If he is not the Aquila who married Martha, then there appears to be little factual data other than his birth that are known. Dick Chase

    3. Good day all, I think the reply to this post (below) is OK on a quick glance, until we find Aquila popping up again. (as 4th great-grandparents.) William of Roxbury has no "proven" relationship to Aquila and Martha Jellison of Hundrich as far as I know. I would be delighted if the issue has been resolved in fact, and would celebrate any original source citation becoming extant. M. Seaver, I am wanting to be sure information I have from my grandfather is correct. The information he had on Nathan Parce (Pearce)'s line was found to have at least one error in parentage, and I am still trying to straighten out that side of the line. If anyone has information on this branch of the Chase family, I would really appreciate hearing from you. And if anyone has Rebecca Chase and Nathan Parce in their line I really would love to get together with you to see what I can uncover on the Pearce line. It appears that Nathan was born Pearce, but census records somehow changed the name to Parce, and that is how it continued on my line since then. I have Pearces back from Nathan 4 generations, and then it stops. My grandfather's information gave the incorrect parental line before that and I would love to find parents of Nathan's great great grandfather, John Pearce, born abt. 1616 in Wales married Mary ? and died 4/26/1692 in Prudence, Portsmouth, RI. Would appreciate any help. Holly M. Snead 5761 Bethel Road Clermont, Ga. 30527
