Derek - The NEHGS has put our the old copies of the Register on CD's. I have access to them and there is an index on the last CD. I have the whole series of articles printed out, but have not printed the index. It might be worthwhile if I were to make the attempt to answer people on the line. I am not sure if it would be breach of copyright to have it put on the Internet, but I have a suspician that it might. Derek Chase, The NEHGS Register has indexes of every name and place in the final issue of each year for the entire year. The William chase article was published in 1933 and 1934, so the index for those years will give you what you need. Unfortunately this was not printed in the paperback reprint of the article so you must find the original at a library and have it photocopied. Steve Barrett
Have rec'd some conflicting info. re: who the children of Prince Wing and Deborah Chase were. Could anyone help me clarify? And..have there been any articles published re: the above persons? I am kind of having a time of it finding much info. re: Prince and Deborah. Thanks for any help. I have the death cert. of their d. Rebecca Wing Clark. My family Treemaker program will put in eight or more spouses. I tried it today and it can be easily done. I think you could put as many in as you want. I have the latest version. Debbie If you'd like to send the GEDCOM or whatever, maybe I could help with this. Debbie

Debbie, Re: Wings of Sandwich, Ma. next to William Chase's Yarmouth, Cape Cod., Ma. I think the Wings have their own big organization (Wing Organization) so I suggest looking them up. They also have their own books about the Wings and I'm SURE the NEHGS has info. about them too. Some of these gurus (how do you spell that word, anyway? can help you out that way. Yes, you have made a real find. The Wing house is just fascinating and beautifully kept with lovely grounds. I have a rather interesting story to tell you. When we were living in Germany we had a friend who was from Sandwich, Ma. In fact he's still there today. He used to talk a lot about this area etc. and after we were on a "Roots" trip there we met this man again. It was then he told us that his father had come over from Italy---was hired as the lead gardner for the Wings. The descendants (the Italian man's descendants) still live in the area, and they are a success story---the Italian man now has been an American success and has retired there. I certainly recomyour going there FOR SURE. Ginger in Az.

Hello all, the NEHGS has "An Every Name Index of Some of the Descendants of William..." this would be very helpful, if it applied to the page numbers in the original NEHGR of 1933 and 1934 when the genealogy of William appeared over John C. Chase's moniker. Anyone have an Every Name Index ? Is it applicable ? It is well worth while for some of us at least to belong to the NEHGS in Boston MA I think, but would enjoy hearing other thoughts on the matter... Hi Derek, I have belonged to the NEHGS New England Historic Genealogical Society for many years and will be happy to share what I can from their records. By the way, for any of you who don't know. If you belong you may borrow their books (in hand) for about 2 weeks. Ginger in Az.
Dear All, Response to Brigham--with his 8 wives---WOW. He knew he had a good thing going for himself--or was he like our movie stars of today? Ha Ha. I think the PAF program which is the program the Mormons sponser probably will handle multiple---multiple---multiple wives ---don't you think? Anyway, check with them about this. 1-800-453-3860. Derek, One book you might look for is SIGNERS OF THE DECLARATION by the National Park Service. Robert G. Ferris Series Editor. US Dept. of Interior, Wash., D.C., Ed. 1975. There are probably later editions. This was not the book that gave out the interesting tid bits, however on poor old Samuel Chase.. Ginger in Az.
Re: the posting about the Chase for which the Chase-Manhattan Bank was named, the "government official who ran the treasury department" was none other than the Hon. Salmon Portland Chase, decendant of Aquila Chase of Newbury MA [Ithmar (6); Dea. Dudley (5); Judge Samuel (4); Daniel (3); Ens. Moses (2); Aquila (1)]. Salmon, a force to be reckoned with in the early days of the Republcan party, was Gov. of Ohio, Sec. of the Treasury under Lincoln, and appointed Chief Justice of the US in 1864. His portrait graced the $10,000 bill, which unfortunately for any who are related and would like one as a momento, is no longer in circulation.
Hi, Does anyone have information on a Elmer Brooks Chase? His son, my great grandfather, Charles Elmer Chase, was born in NY in about 1855. He then went to Kansas sometime before 1889, which is when he married Jennie Sebina Tuttle. Their children are Dorothy, Faith, Harold, Nelson & Norman, Ethel, Zoa, Elmer, and my grandfather Kenneth.
