Hello We are trying to locate a Karen Chase (that is her maiden name, we dont know of marriage) She would have been born after 1946 to father Albert R. Chase of Johnstown NY and Hessie (Steele) Chase of Scotland. Albert and Hessie were divorced before 1980 (though probably much before) Albert lived later in Florida and has passed away in 1993. We are in search of Hessie and Karen who are said to have lived in Connecticute (they owned a house there). This is all the information we have up to this point. I would be the grand daughter of Hessie and niece to Karen. Please email any information to environment@erols.com or any leads. Thank you Justine O'Malley

Hi Kimberly, The following is from the "Seven generations of the Descendants of Aquila and Thomas Chase" and is just a small addition to what you already have below. LYDIA BACON was the daughter of SAMUEL and LUCY [LUFKIN]BACON The book agrees with your birth date for LYDIA BACON CHASE. She had 5 children which are not named. There are slight variations in dates, a few days, 1 year etc. There is much information about each generation back to Aquila, wills, occupation, etc. If you need the info. just give me a shout and I will send it to you. >From Colorful Colorado, Lonnie Chase lonec@concentric.net <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> > -----Original Message----- > From: Kim VanDerveer [mailto:kvderveer@usni.org] > Sent: Thursday, September 24, 1998 7:13 AM > To: CHASE-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [CHASE-L] CHASE FAMILY OF MAINE > > > Wondering if anyone is researching the Chase family of North Yarmouth and > Eastport, Maine. I am sorry to use the Group to contact individuals but am trying to find the following:- Matt Chase Bob Connor My replies to you have been returned as "undeliverable" Please contact me, Keith Hume
This is from another list, I have not verified the information. Lonnie ------------------------------------------------------------- the best way to get sterling is via Ruesch International, who have offices in most of the large American cities, I gather. I am told they only charge $3 to issue a sterling check, which is some bargain - if you sent dollars here,[England] it would cost the equivalent of an extra five gbp to exchange them.
ALL, I have included the first page in the "Archives" section. This as you may expect covers the UK. It is by no means complete but the researcher should be able to find out a large percentage of what he ir looking for here. The Guildhall Library Records with its copies of over 100 London Parish Registers and Lloyd's Lists of British Captains and Mates from mid 1800s s worth a look. These lists are not on-line but they are not averse to answering some queries by email as long as you do not ask for too much. Copies of Boyd's Marriages of England and Wales are here. I am sure you will find the other sites interesting as well, Keith Hume
You are quite right,Rick, The "name change" syndrome wa one of the first things I learnt at Genealogy course. My own name should be HULME but it changed when my ancestor went to America and joined a Loyalist unit with many Scots. HUME and HULME are pronounced the same with the "L" silent, Keith At 06:57 25/09/98 EDT, you wrote: >Hi all, > >The Chase and Chace bit was sometimes made worse by the clerks. Hi all, The Chase and Chace bit was sometimes made worse by the clerks. One of my many great grandmothers Susan Adley Chase moved off Cape in the 1840's to Fall River. When she got married they spell it Chace because of the large number of Chaces (very distant relatives of course) in the area. At least when the children came she corrected the maiden spelling so I did not find it difficult to trace back. The problem is when you are new at this , you do not expect using computers , all the spelling changes that happen. Rick Arruda
Hi,Matt, I tried your new email address but get messages returned. Can you resend/confirm correct address.please, Keith
In my recent email re updating of site Database I inadvertently referred to Holder Chase. This should have been Holder CHACE. As with many of this variation on Chase he is descended from Benjamin Chase. "Ginger" Reeder's book on the Chase/Chace family explains how this came about, Keith Hume Keith Hume, email khume@netcomuk.co.uk CHASE-L Website at:- http://www.surnameweb.org/centers/c/chase/index.html http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~khume/home.html Kent,England Researching:- HULME,DAWSON,(In Lancs.) Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with another portion of my family. I am related to Levi Solomon Chase and have found the rest of the family on this branch. My question is if anyone has ever read or heard about Roswell Chase. The information that I have is that he was born 1845 in NY? died 1901 in NY. He married Helen Roff b. 5/19/1845 died 3/30/1922 in Steuben Co., NY. Their daughter Carrie Chase married Charles Withey. Carrie Chase was born 3/10/1875 died 10/29/1963 in Bath, NY. Her husband, Charles Withey was born 10/3/1865 and died 10/27/1942 in Cameron Mills, NY near Bath, NY. Charles Withey's mother was Angeline Stratton daughter of Perry B Stratton and Mary Ann Clark. Does anyone have any information on this branch of the Chase family. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on these individuals.
