Hi! I am a new subscriber and wonder if anyone has information on Abraham Chase of Martha's Vineyard and Cincinnati. He married (1) in Falmouth, MA 5 Nov. 1778, Elizabeth Bourne. He married (2) in Cincinnati Hepsebeth (Folger) Smith, widow of John Smith, formerly of Nantucket. Both Hepsebeth and Abraham Chase died in Cincinnati from cholera in November 1832. I wish to know where and when Elizabeth (Bourne) Chase died and when Abraham Chase maarried Widow Hepsebeth Smith. Thanks. JPendery@aol.com
Sandy, from what I have heard, the site will be open sometime this month for beta testing, during this period a password will be needed to access the content of the site. The initial plans are for just the FHLC contents, later they will add more portions of the FamilySearch archives as they can make it work. It is hoped that Ancestral File and the IGI will get online, but don't get too high of hopes up. There have been some delays in getting it going, problems in getting things to work before they open the beta tests. Hi, I'm new to this mailing list. I am trying to find information on my great grandfather Edward J. Chase who was born February 18, 1849 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The only other information that I have on him, is that he married Clara Adoline Starr on April 29, 1874. Am not sure where, but I believe it was in Oregon, as both of their children were born there. Would anyone know of this gentleman and his ancestors? Marti Wright SheaBeau@aol.com
There are ten pages of Chase's so if your looking for someone or you have some spacific dates let me know and I will look them up for you. The family starts with William Chase born about 1600 in England and ends with Philip Thomas Chase born March 29, 1924. Maxine
Maxine, I would be very interesting in receiving the information included in "Littleton Compton Families" on any Chases mentioned. Thank you for your generous offer. JLynn112@aol.com
I won't be the first to pass this on I am sure. Read and jump for joy with ME! Sandy Chase Salt Lake Tribune Article: LDS Genealogy Archives to Go Online http://www.sltrib.com/1999/mar/03061999/utah/88438.htm From: Sandra Miller
I have nine pages of Dyer's in my "Little Compton Families" of Little Compton, RI. It starts with William Dyer from possibly England. There are several pages of Chase's also. Let me know if you are interested. Maxine
Hi to all searching for parents of Samuel CHASE of New Brunswick. I am excited over a fiche just received. Wrote a rather long letter to my children and told them I felt "cautious excitement" and also "cautious optimisim"! I plan on searching much further but, as I told my kids, this is the first time I've ever seen the name CHASE written in an account with Moore's Mill. Also, can understand how easy it would have been for the family to cross over the border from Calais, ME into St. Stephen. It talks about St. David, and the whole area that contained my family. A quick note from the book. It said James and Jones DYER came from Machias, ME to Calais but their origins seem to be Providence, RI. James died by drowning in his early manhood but left four children-names the sons-and 2 girls as Mrs. CHASE and Mrs. Westbrook KNIGHT. The years and names and places are all where and what they should be, so am now going to try and find a girl, maiden name DYER, who married a CHASE. I realize this could be another CHASE daughter but it is another clue and I'm scarcely breathing till I find out who they were. This fiche is "Annals of Calais, Maine and St. Stephen, New Brunswick", # 6093224. Has anyone out there done research on the possiblility of Samuel's mother being a DYER? Have had so many false leads, I'm trying not to let myself get too hopeful but can't seem to help it. Bobbie
I would like to know if anyone could tell me if these documentation's are for the LDS library or something else. Someone sent them to me and I am finding it hard to discern what they are exactly. This documentation for the Family Dell from Niagara Falls, NY and Ontario, Canada. Martha b 20 Jun 1896 USA (LDS mf 2022140. Dear Dave, Please send me your e-mail address. I have something important to discuss with you. Thanks ginger
It's a very nice poem. Worth reading but I could only read it in the window that popped up for my reply. The side slide on the original message would not let me scroll down to the poem. My daughter sent this to me. I have been pondering how all that I know of some of my ancesters is their date of birth, marriage and death. Hope this touches some of you. Meg Chase
ALL, Some of you who have been with us for some months will recall that some members of the Group raised $200 for research to be carried out at the College of Arms here in London. The results of this research have been received and copied to those who contributed. Evidence of Armorial bearings and their description have been received The information obtained was sufficient to prompt those who paid for the research to continue and receive transcriptions of Pedigrees from the College relating to CHASE family members most of which refer to people born before 1700. We are currently seeking to raise further funds to cover this cost. The amount required to complete this phase of the research is 230 pounds Stirling (getting on for $400 dollars). Would all of you interested in this project please contact Dave White at boda@ix.netcom.com with any contribution you deem appropriate, Keith Hume

Hello, have been lurking for awhile now hoping to luck into the information I need. In alot of ways I have, but not on this particular part of my line. we have an undocumented hole from Judge Samuel Chase b. around 1707 down to Capt. Sylvester Stephen Chase b. 1815 near Cornish NH. we *think* it goes like this: Samuel and Mary Dudley had Jonathan (1732). He had Peter (1755). He had Peter (1785) Sylvester Stephen in (1815) something doesn't seem right tho. I'm stuck. Can anyone help? Thanx! Laura Maquoketa, Iowa
Looking for information on ancesters or siblings of John L. Chase b. Sept. 22, 1820 in NY. and died Mar. 17, 1895. Married to Lana(Lena) Shepherd Sept. 9, 1849. At that time they lived in Holmes Co., OH area. They had seven children. I have information on their 3 daughters but only names at this time on their sons. Larry D. Brown
Mother of Ransom Jay Chase, Jr. was Melissa M. Baker, grandmother was Sarah Marshall. Still want to find out about this relation, as there is nothing in family records about him and marriage and offspring.
