    2. Good evening all, All though I do not descend from Aquilla and for so long thought I did, I am waiting to meet new cousins whom descend from William. I have a cousin who is in England now and she sent me a card stating that she has a friend there who is getting her the Coat of Arms. Addie

    1. Re: [CHASE-L] Where are you all?
    2. Hi Ginger, I'm new on the list and haven't seen much activity. I wonder if anyone knows if there is a connection between Samuel Chase, born 1741 in Maryland, signer of the Declaration of Independence and Aquila Chase I born in 1580? The family lore says that we are related to Samuel, but I haven't seen it yet. Thank you. Melody Chase

    1. Re: [CHASE-L] Where are you all?
    2. Ginger, I am with YOU! Where is everybody? I am so glad to see you on-line again and I hope this means your husband is improved. Speaking for me, cousins, when the LDS site finally went up I made the breakthrough in my paternal Chase line that my uncle and my mother sought for 30 years and I myself for three. Yes, I know. I have to get the solid documentation and I will. But the line at least is irrefutable. Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure....! I am also pretty sure that my 83-year-old mother doesn't trust yet that it's true because she's suspicious of this Chaser who hasn't legged it to the "back of beyond" for the information instead of doing it from my ergonometrically-correct chair while sitting on my derriere. I have thought of posting the bits and pieces of the journey to this discovery to the List. Is anyone interested? Sandy

    3. The 1850 Maine census for Aroostook County shows William CHASE age 30 & his wife Betsy age 22 lived at #7 Route 5 with their 3 children Sarah age 8, Joseph F. age 7 and Ruth age 4. William is shown as being born in Blanchard ME and Betsey in Clinton ME. Does anyone "know" this family or where #7 Route 5 would have been in 1850? Any help will be appreciated! 1. [CHASE-L] New Chase Chaser
    2. Rose Casey
    3. Hi everyone, I have a mystery Chase. Mary Ann Chase married to Edward Rennie. They lived in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. I have a birth register for their daughter Beatrice Mabel Rennie b. Nov 20, 1907 in Halifax. The register was filed by Mary Ann Chase , April 8,1931. which was just before Beatrice was to be married. A transcript is on my webpage at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hollow/5989/BeatriceRennie.html I have an original of the document. Mary Ann Chase was my great grandmother. My mother thinks she may have had a brother William, or at least a cousin. She thinks she died sometime around 1959. I have checked the Chase database, where there are 50 Mary or Mary Ann Chases, but none are a surefire match. When I checked the Chase mailing list database I see there is definately people researching the Chase name that came through Nova scotia. The Chase name is very prominent in a book I have called "The Port remembers, The history of Port Williams and its century homes" This book states that 3 brothers came to NS and then some of the line went to New Brunswick with some staying in Nova sCotia. I have rambled on enough Hopefully someone can help me thanks in advance Rose

    1. [CHASE-L] Submitting GEDCOM Report
    2. John J. Whitney
    3. I would like to submit my Chase Family Tree, but I have questions: -My Chase data is part of a combined family history of my husband's and my families, maintained in a Family Tree Maker Family File. My earliest Chase ancestor known to me from my family history is Zephaniah, born March 14, 1747/48 in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, Dukes County, MA, whose first wife was Abigail Skiffe. This Zephaniah appears in Banks, Vol.. III as No. 201. Since Banks provides what appears to be a complete family line which connects my Zephaniah with Isaac Chase, the first of the Chase name to settle on Martha's Vineyard, I can easily prepare in FTM a Genealogy Report, showing descendants from Isaac on in my family line, with living individuals omitted. Is a Genealogy Report of this sort, prepared as a GEDCOM type of file, fit in with your requirements? If there is any doubt, should I just prepare it and send it, and let you decide? -Banks says that Isaac descended from Richard through Aquila Chase through Thomas Chase. My family's records say that our Chase ancestors came from England, from the marriage of Henry Chase and Mary Townley. I don't have further information on Henry, and the only Mary Townley that I find (through FHL's familysearch.org Web site) is Mary Townley b.1605 in England, d. Oct 6 1659 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA, with possible marriage to a William Chase. Can you shed any light on this? If my family records are correct, they seem to conflict with Banks' Richard to Aquila to Thomas to Isaac track.
