Chaney, 79, died Friday morning, Aug. 1, 2014, at the Omni Manor Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Cayce, S.C., a son of Grover T. and Bessie V. Ott Chaney, and had lived in Hubbard since 1970. Ronald was a self-employed contractor in the building industry for many years before retiring in 1994. He served with the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, and was a member of the Covenant Life Fellowship in Hubbard, OH. He leaves his wife, the former Donna J. Moke, whom he married July 3, 1956; four sons, Michael A. (Faith) Chaney of Masury, R. Kelvin Chaney of Hubbard, Joseph T. (Lisa) Chaney of Las Vegas, and James A. (Kim) Chaney of Hubbard; three daughters, Robin L. Chaney of Palm Desert, Calif., Rhonda K. Gaia of Niles, and Donna M. Blue of Cortland, Ohio; three brothers, Ray Chaney of Lexington, S.C., Gary Chaney of West Columbia, S.C., and Fred Chaney of Gaston, S.C.; five sisters, Theresa Redding of Charleston, S.C., Janice Chaney and Pamelia Jackson, both of West Columbia, S.C., Debra Harmon of North, S.C., and Paula Smith of Gaston, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Grover Chaney; and a sister, Beverly Chaney. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
