    3. Fellow Researchers Something I found in a news letterand thought it may help someone. Jewell Chandler Kennedy CHANDLER Lt Col William H Chandler, Rt 1 Box 189, Hemingway SC 29554 seek parentage of John Chandler of Jeffreys Creek , Craven Co SC[within Welch Tract) who was granted 400 acres 22 Mar 1745. The plat prepared by James Gillespie, Surveyor, refers to "Manahany Oil Field" which may indicate a settlement by Daniel MONAHAN. John PERKINS and Joseph ELLISON held land nearby, John CHANDLER d pr 2 May 1778, when the 400 sc tract was sold by his eldest son, George CHANDLER, to Zachariah NETTLES and it is probable that a water-powered mill had already been built (which was expanded and is today known as MULDROW's Mill near Florence SC). Rees PERKINS a grandson of Daniel REES of New Castle DE, d 1767 leaving as executors his widow Elizabeth (COLSON) PERKINS, and George and Samuel CHANDLER (sons of John CHANDLER). James PERKINS s/o Rees PERKINS, m Margaret CHANDLER, Joseph CHANDLER s/o John, was a founder of Ebenezer Baptist church west of Florence, while sons George and Samuel joined the Salem/Black River Presbyterian Church south of Lynches River. John CHANDLER was probably born c 1701 Did he migrate from DE/PA with the Welch settlers?
