Dave My roots are also "New English"; I'm descended from William and Annis Chandler who immigrated to Roxbury, MA in 1637. I just looked up "McCoy" in my copy of George Chandler's book about William's and Annis' descendants. The only one was "John" who married a Mary Chandler. I think it's unlikely Sarah was descended from this CHANDLER branch. Have you tried locating Sarah's birth record? (Vital records from town or county in NC) It would most likely give the names of her parents. Best wishes in your search!!
