George Chandler was born 1791. He migrated with his family to Sullivan Township, Tioga county PA, possibly from Ohio. The area where he settled was called Chandlersburg and later became Elk Run. Daughter Sallie born 1824 married Charles Smith, I have a tin type of her and the lilac bush she brought with her still blooms every spring in front of her house in Sullivan township where great grandaughter Paulia Smith lived until her death in 1995. Sally Chandler's brother Horace married Charles Smith's sister Sally. Although none remain in the area with the Chandler name, many descendants remain there. I know nothing of the origin of this family and will be very appreciative of any leads. Joyce M.
