It sounds as though someone perhaps gave Emory's name as "Em," and the enumerator wrote "M." I looked at the image of the 1860 census page with Solomon's family, and the name of the 74 year old doesn't look like "Senie" to me, although I can't do any better. The last two letters look more like "VE" than "IE" to me, but that doesn't look like a name I've ever seen, and I'm only familiar with Sene/Senie as a nickname for the woman's name Asenath. Maybe the 1850 census would help, or maybe there's a death record for the 74 year old.
