I have just started trying to see how far back I can get into my father's lineage. I just find this list and some pointers on the internet to get me going, most of what I had been told growing up is heresay, maybe some of you can help me out. Here's what I know: From the back of a family portrait that says was taken July 4 1909 is the following - Charles Chandler 7/28/1841 - 06/20/1927 Samantha Reynolds Chandler 5/7/1858 - 2//1936 Vernon M. Chandler 11/18/1887 Morty G Chandler 06/06/1889 August Swenson Chandler 10/15/1891 Clifford D. Chandler 09/09/1896 August is my great-grandfather and lived in Eagleville Missouri, it's in the very Northern Part of Missouri not far from Lineville, IA. He is buried there. He and his wife had one child, Loren Eldon Chandler. Loren married Berniece Dorothy Czizek and they lived in Des Moines, Iowa. They had two children, Sherman Lawrence and Marcene. Sherm is my father. The story I always heard growing up was that the family was from Scotland. Seven brothers and I sister orginally came to America. I don't know when or if it is even true.
